Roberta Montinaro

Associate Professor in Private law at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Italian Minister of University scientific field:  IUS/12 – International Law, concourse field 12/A1) has many years of experience as researcher in the private law field, with specific experience, among others, in tort law, law and new technologies, Italian and European contract law, consumer law and agri-food law. In these topics, she has developed solid training and advising skills and competencies. She has, also, an extensive teaching experience: she has had the responsibility of several university courses over the years, at both under-graduate and post-graduate level, including PhD courses. She has participated in some research project, both at a national and international level, and has acted as visiting professor on several occasions under the Erasmus Teaching Programmes. She is author of several scientific books, papers, academic essays and comments. She is among the beneficiaries of the Funding Fund for Basic Research Activities (FFABR) for the period 2017-2010. On the above mentioned topics, she has given lectures at symposia and seminars. She is member of the editorial committee of peer-reviewed Journals and is affiliated to prestigious academic and research organizations.

Rossella Bonito Oliva

Full Professor in Theoretical Moral Philosophy, University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Italian Minister of University scientific field:  11- C3, concourse field A11) teaches Intercultural Ethics and Ethics of Intercultural Communication at the University of Naples "L'Orientale". She has taught Philosophy and Language Theory at the University of Naples Sister Orsola from 2000 to 2010 and Health Ethics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pisa until 2011. Since 2002 she is a member of the scientific committee of the Interuniversity Centre of Bioethics in Campania (Cirb) for which she has organized various conferences on topics such as the condition of women, interculturality, dialogue between medical and humanistic knowledge. She is a member of the Italian Philosophical Council and of the Board of the Italian Society of Moral Philosophy. She is a member of the scientific committee of the magazines Studi Filosofici, Verifiche e Scienza e Filosofia and of the series Itinerari Filosofici, Filosofia/Scienza and of the CIRB series for Mimesis, the series Percorsi per Meltemi, the series Etica e vita comune per LED edizioni and the series Xenos de Il Melangolo. Main fields of research: 1) the idea of citizenship, the issues of identity, otherness, the formation of subjectivity and intercultural relations (in the contemporary age according to the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion generated by the processes of globalization; 2) the theme of fear and trust as feelings at the basis of the relationship between people and as the origin and foundation of the community; 3) the transformation of conflicts - colonialism, mass war, atomic war, terrorism - and its repercussions on common life and its rules.

 

Giuseppe Cataldi

Full Professor of International Law at Università di Napoli L’Orientale, Coordinator of Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, financed by the European Union, Erasmus Plus+ 2014 “The Protection of Migrants in the Mediterranean”. Moreover Prof. Cataldi is currently chair holder the Jean Monnet Chair on “The protection of Human Rights in the European Union”, from 2007. Prof. Cataldi is expert of Human Rights Law, International Law and EU Law and in these fields he is author of several papers, comments, reports, volumes and other scientific documents. In the same topics he has given lectures at symposia and seminars held worldwide. Prof. Cataldi has been Professor in charge of the Jean Monnet Chairs European Module on “The development of the protection of human rights in the European Union” from 2002 to 2006. In 2007 Prof. Cataldi has held a course at the Hague Academy of International Law.

 

Adele Del Guercio

Adele Del Guercio is a researcher in International Law at the University of Naples L'Orientale (Italian Minister of University scientific field:  IUS/13 – International Law, concourse field 12/E1 – International Law), where she teaches European Union Law. She is staff member of the Jean Monnet Network "Migration and Asylum Policy Systems Weaknesses, Shortcomings and Reform Proposals" (MAPS, coordinated by Prof. G. Cataldi) and is included in the list of external experts of the European Asylum Support Office. She is also External Expert of the IATE (InterActive Terminology for Europe): Migration project of the University of Naples L'Orientale, funded within the TermCoord project of the European Parliament. From 2014-2017 she was staff member of the "Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the protection of migrants' rights in the Mediterranean" (President Prof. G. Cataldi), funded by the European Commission. She is among the beneficiaries of the Funding Fund for Basic Research Activities (FFABR) for the period 2017-2020.  She is author of several articles on immigration, asylum, LGBTIQ+ rights, children, human rights, and a monograph entitled The protection of asylum seekers in international and European law, Editoriale Scientifica, Naples, 2016.

 

Prof. Valentina Grado

Associate Professor, at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Italian Minister of University scientific field: IUS/13 – International Law, concourse field 12/E1 – International Law). Main fields of research (since academic year 2001/2002): a) globalization, cultural identities and the crisis of the international legal system; b) the work of the United Nations system in the field of armed conflict prevention; c) United Nations collective security system evolution; d) enforcement of international decisions by Italian judges; e) United Nations governance of “failed States”; f) the legislative function of the United Nations Security Council; g) World Trade Organization and non-commercial values; h) United Nations action in breaking the link between armed conflicts and illegal exploitation of mineral resources; i) international responsibility for human rights violations: accountability and enforcement; j) migration in international law: traditional and new forms of protection; k) forced labour, modern slavery and human trafficking; l) Sustainable Development Goals and human rights.

 

Emma Annamaria Imparato

Associate Professor at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Italian Minister of University scientific field:  IUS/12 - Constitutional Law). She teaches Institutions of Public Law and Comparative Public Law. During her PhD in 'Environmental Law' she studied at Montpellier University, carrying out research on environmental issues. In 2015 she carried out a period of research at the Metropolitan University of London. She has given lectures in several Italian Universities including the Second University of Naples, the University of Calabria, the University of Genoa and UNINT in Rome and in several Level II Masters. She has been interested for a long time in environmental law, cultural heritage and the protection of privacy

 

 

 

Francesco Zammartino

Associate Professor in Administrative Law, at the Department of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Naples "L'Orientale"(Italian Minister of University scientific field:  Administrative Law - SDD 12/D1), . He has lectured in Public Law of Economics within the Master of Advanced Training in "Local and Development" Stoà di Ercolano and in Administrative Law within the Master of Advanced Training in "Management and enhancement of cultural heritage" at the University of Naples "l'Orientale". Winner in 2017 of the FFABR award, he is an ordinary member of the association of constitutionalists of Pisa and member of numerous prestigious scientific journals. He participated and was responsible for various Prin and University research projects.  He is the author of several monographs, as well as numerous essays and notes on public law, administrative law and local authority law. The main objects of his research are the system of sources, the activity and organization of the State and local autonomies, local public services.

 

 

EU Jean Monnet Academic Assistants:

Marianna Pace

Marianna Pace PhD in Institutions, Law and Economics of Public Services at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” with a thesis in international law. Within the same University she is assistant professor at the chairs of international law, protection of human rights in the European Union and International Migrants Protection and, since 2007, she is scientific coordinator of Jean Monnet Projects under the Chair of Professor Giuseppe Cataldi, full professor of international law: at the present she is member of the Steering Committee of the Network Jean Monnet “MAPS – Migration and Asylum Policies Systems” (previously, vice-coordinator of: the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence on “The rights of migrants in the Mediterranean” and the Jean Monnet Chair Ad Personam “The protection of human rights in European Union”). Marianna Pace has acquired research experiences in the field of research in international law and human rights through participation in several research programmes of Universities and Research bodies in Italy and in Naples. The research activities of Marianna Pace investigate international law field area and, in particular, issues related to human rights specifically social, economic and cultural rights. She possesses, finally, almost ten years of experience in the field of training and human rights education (formal and non-formal) with and for particularly vulnerable groups (women, Rom, migrants) in which he also worked as a consultant for public and private entities.

 

Andrea D’Alessio

PhD in Processes of Harmonisation of Law between History and System at the University of Teramo and lawyer. He has research experience in civil law, contract law, consumer law, agri-food law, law and technology, testified by publications, seminars and conferences on these topics. He has solid teaching skills due to several academic collaborations, thanks to which he has lectured to university students. He has international research experiences consisting in the participation in conferences abroad and in a research period in UK, in particular in London at IALS and in Norwich at East Anglia University.
